Museum selects theme for Christmas contests
Keystone Square Museum’s 2009 holiday theme for the Christmas tree and gingerbread house contests is "A Boot Scootin’ Christmas."
Participants might go western with cowboy or cowgirl boots, use a gogo boot theme or salute a newborn with knitted baby booties.
A prize will be given to the top tree and gingerbread house that best use the theme. First-, second-, and third-place prizes also will be given in age categories.
Decorated trees should be delivered to the museum on Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 30 from 6-8 p.m. Participants must provide their own artificial trees, and no glitter may be used on the trees.
The public will judge entries on Dec. 5 during the Carol of Lights. Trees must be picked up on Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon or 3-6 p.m.
Gingerbread houses should be delivered to the museum on Dec. 4 from 4-6 p.m. for judging, and picked up Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon or 3-6 p.m.
For more information on either contest, phone the museum at 556- 2224.
