Mary Cortez Santamaria, 64, of Lampasas died Nov. 7, 2009, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.

Funeral Mass was Nov. 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mrs. Santamaria was born Nov. 5, 1945, in Lexington, TX, the daughter of Julian Cortez and Mary Ramos.

She had lived in the Lampasas area most of her life and had worked as a home health aide for many years.

Mrs. Santamaria was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Nick Hernandez and wife, Berlinda, Rudy Rodriguez and Chris Hernandez, all of Lampasas; two daughters, Maryann DeLeon of Lampasas, and Julie Santamaria of Austin; three brothers and their wives, Jesse and Amelia Cortez of Throckmorton, John and Lori Cortez of Breckenridge, and Joe and Caroline Cortez of Rockdale; three sisters, Frances, Gloria and Helen; and grandchildren, Nick Hernandez Jr., Mekayla Hernandez, Eilaina Calvillo, Zach Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Luxy Rodriguez, Whisper Rodriguez, Lazarus Salazar, Michael Rios and AdrieAnna Rios.
