Fort Hood official set to speak
Lt. Col. Tim Daugherty Keynote speaker at the tribute to veterans set Nov. 11 at Badger Field will be Lt. Col. Tim Daugherty, the 89th Military Police Brigade commander provisional rear.
Daugherty was born in Arab, Ala., and graduated from Jacksonville State Uni- versity. He was commissioned in the Field Artillery in 1989. His first assignment was to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery in the 3rd Armored Division, Butzbach, Germany.
Daugherty served as an infantry company fire support officer, Howitzer platoon leader and fire direction officer, and was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm.
He then was assigned to 5th Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany as an infantry battalion fire support officer and Howitzer battery commander, which included a deployment to Bosnia.
Following that, Daugherty took artillery and infantry advance courses and served as operations officer for the Training Support Battalion at Fort Stewart, Ga.
After graduating from Command and General Staff College, he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, where he was brigade fire support officer, battalion operations officer and battalion executive officer, which included a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Daugherty then was assigned to the 4th Fire Brigade at Fort Hood as the executive officer and deputy commanding officer, which also included a rotation to Iraq.
He holds a master of business administration from Central Michigan University.
Daugherty's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Parachutist Badge and Combat Action Badge.
