Viola Dennis, 84, of Lampasas died Oct. 21, 2009, at Park Place Manor in Belton, where she had resided for three years.

Funeral services were Oct. 26 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.

She was born Jan. 23, 1925, to Morrison and Nellie Price of Tahoka.

Mrs. Dennis was a longtime resident of Lampasas. She worked at the Lampasas Public Library for 18 years until her retirement in 1996.

She married Truett Dennis at First Baptist Church of Comanche on June 2, 1944.

Mrs. Dennis was a member of First Baptist Church of Lampasas where she taught a ladies' Sunday School class.

Survivors include her husband, formerly of Lampasas, now of Belton; a son, John Dennis of Lampasas; a daughter and son-inlaw, Glenda and Glen Cosper of Belton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kretzer of Goldthwaite; four grandchildren, Lori Briere of Tucson, Ariz., Chad Cosper and wife, Amanda of Austin, Melissa Bonnet of Cedar Park, and Phillip Dennis of Goldthwaite; six great-grandchildren, Allison, Emily, Christina and Gus Bonnet of Cedar Park, Alyssa Briere of Tucson, and Ashley Briere of Hunter, Okla.; and a sister, Imogene Youngblood and her husband, Ray, of Houston.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Willie Price, and by a sister, Louise

Honea.
