Local legend on UIL all-century ballot
The University Interscholastic League is accepting votes for members of the all-century football team, and Lampasas legend Johnny "Lam" Jones is on the ballot.
The former University of Texas Longhorn and second overall pick in the 1980 NFL draft joins 59 other running backs on the list.
Voters are allowed to select one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, three linebackers, four defensive backs, one kicker and one punter. Players with the most votes at each position will be named to the UIL All- Century Football Team.
In addition to the nominees, voters can write in for any player from any category.

Polls for the All-Century Football Team are open until Nov. 7.
Voting for the UIL All-Century Volleyball and Girls' Basketball teams also is available at the Web site.
Voting for volleyball will remain open until Oct. 31, and voting for girls' basketball runs through Feb. 13, 2010.
Ballots for boys' basketball (Oct. 28), track and field (Feb. 1) and baseball (Feb. 19) will be available in the upcoming months.
