Couple exchange vows in Austin ceremony

Karen and Andrew Limmer Karen Elizabeth Hodges and Andrew Walter Limmer, both of Houston, were united in marriage on Aug. 22, 2009, at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by Dr. J. Kie Bowman, minister of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Dianna Hodges of Lampasas. She is the granddaughter of Ovid and Faye Wear of Salado, and the late John and Lottie Hodges of Lampasas.

The groom's parents are Margaret and William Limmer of Friendswood. The groom's grandfather is Herman Limmer of Connecticut.

Large sprays of purple hydrangea, white calla lilies, baby's breath and greenery in crystal vases decorated the altar.

Candles in crystal flanked the stairs of the church, and a Unity Candle was centered on the altar.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white satin gown with an embellishment of pearls, white sequins and Swarovski crystals on the sweetheart bodice.

She wore a three-tier cathedral veil that was designed and beaded by her mother under a hair comb of pearls and crystals in a flower and leaf pattern.

The bride's grandmother handbeaded the garter with amethyst and pearls.

To complement her gown, she carried a bouquet of purple hydrangea, white calla lilies, baby's breath and greenery. A cameo that the bride's mother wore at her wedding 34 years ago was attached to the bouquet.

Matron of honor was Annah Lopez, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Arica Anderson, cousin of the bride, and Melissa Limmer and Heather Limmer, the groom's sisters.

Attendants wore floor-length, strapless amethyst satin dresses.

James Limmer, brother of the bride, was best man.

Groomsmen were Eloy Lopez, brother-in-law of the groom, John Hobratschk and Adam "Bevo" Bielamowicz.

Ushers were Steven Golz, Annan Patel, Cody Cheek and Adam Matlack.

Following the ceremony, a catered reception was hosted by the bride's parents at the Grand Ballroom of the University of Texas ATT Conference Center in Austin.

Tables were accented with table runners of amethyst satin and topped with flower centerpieces and candles.

Musical prelude was by Dave Hausmann of Lampasas.

A dance followed with music provided by Barrington Miles.

The bride's cake featured edible hydrangea and calla lilies in the bride's colors of amethyst purple and silver. The tiers of the six-layer white chocolate fondant cake were alternate flavors of French vanilla, dark chocolate and marble.

Houseparty members included Vershanna Morris, Kari Lymberopoulos and Maria Rivera of Lampasas. They wore tea-length dresses matching the bridesmaids.

Following a wedding trip to Kauai, Hawaii, the couple is at home in Houston.

The bride is a graduate of Lampasas High School and the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. She is a registered nurse for M.D. Anderson in Houston and attends graduate school at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

The groom is a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and a bachelor of arts for Plan II Honors. He is employed by ExxonMobil as an analyst for the Americas Gas Marketing Group.

A rehearsal dinner of Texas barbecue and all the trimmings was hosted by the groom's parents at the County Line on the Hill in Austin.
