The report from the Oct. 14 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows.

Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 253 compared to 520 last week and 640 last year.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 500 lb. steady to firm; over 500 lb. $1-$2 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls $1- $2 higher. Receipts limited due to rain in trade area.

Bulk supply medium and large 1- 2 300-700 lb. feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 13 percent, slaughter bulls 1 percent and feeders 86 percent.

Feeder steers: medium and large 1: 300-400 lb., $116-$127; 400- 500 lb., $102-$112; 500-600 lb., $93-$97; 600-700 lb., $81.50-$86.

Medium and large 2: 300-400 lb., $105-$107; 400-500 lb., $91.50-$95; 500-600 lb., $82- $87.50; 600-700 lb., $74.50-$80. Medium and large 3: 400-500 lb., $77-$78.50.

Feeder heifers: medium and large 1: 300-400 lb., $102-$103; 400-500 lb., $87-$91; 500-600 lb., $83-$85. Medium and large 2: 300-400 lb., $86-$90; 400-500 lb., $78-$85; 500-600 lb., $75-$80; 600-700 lb., $77.50-$79.

Cow/calf pairs: medium & large 1-2: young to middle aged 825 lb. cows w/250 lb. calves, $875 per pair.
