Lady Badgers snap district losing streak

After going winless in district last season, the Lady Badgers finally ended the losing slump.

It took five sets, but Lampasas excelled in the final frame against Killeen to improve to 1-4 in District 25-4A competition (10-17 overall).

Lampasas won the first set 25-23 and then dropped the second 22-25. The Lady Badgers would then take the third set 25-21 before falling in the fourth 19-25.

In the tiebreaker, Lampasas strolled to a 15-5 win over the Lady Roos (0-5 district) on the road.

Sarah Bishop led the team with 15 kills and 19 digs, while sophomore Hailey Morrison chipped in 13 kills and 11 digs.

With the first district win under their belts, the Lady Badgers travel to Hutto and Hendrickson for their next two matches before finally returning home from the five-match road stint next Tuesday for a showdown with Lake Travis.

The Lady Badgers lost their first match to No. 3 Lake Travis in straight sets.
