L-M Garden Club plants for spring; readies for second yard sale event
The recent yard sale benefitting the L-M Garden Club was a successful event. Members of the L-M Garden and Civic Club were out early last week doing their best to ensure spring blooming of wildflowers and bluebonnets at Lometa Regional Park.
First vice president Tico Hicks brought her granddaughter to help get the seeds in place.
According to wildflower experts Robert and Kathryn Butler, October is the best time to plant wildflower seeds for blooming next year.
Club members spent the remainder of the week preparing for a yard sale.
Because the sale was so successful and numerous items were donated, the sale will be repeated on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the club building, 104 E. Main St., said Susan Stone, club president.
Sale proceeds will go toward the cost of recent major repairs to the building and to help the club meet its annual expenses.
