Kenneth Ray Burton, 76, of Lampasas died Oct. 3, 2009, at his residence.

A memorial service is Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. The body was cremated.

Mr. Burton was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Arp, the son of Walter Lee and Gertrude Marie Gee Burton.

He married Donna Swink on May 2, 1956, in Albany, Texas.

Mr. Burton had a career in fire and safety equipment. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1955.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a son, Kenneth Michael Burton; a daughter and her husband, Rebecca Lynne and Mark Lucas; a sister and her husband, Ava Ruth and Benton Jones; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Santiago Burton, Keith Justin Burton, Kenneth James Burton, Caitlin Marie Blakley, Megan Blakley, Coleton Lee Lucas, Shannon Rene Lucas and Garret Wayne Lucas; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Diane Blakley and Aidelin Blakley.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas Burton, and

by a daughter, Cassandra Burton.
