Vision Lampasas! will hold its second annual Evening Under the Stars fund-raiser tonight on downtown Courtyard Square by the county courthouse.

The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a barbecue dinner, live music and an auction at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each and are available at the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce, First Texas Bank, The National Banks of Central Texas, First State Bank of Burnet or from any board member.

Funds raised will benefit the organization's mission of enhancing the aesthetic, social, cultural and economic welfare of the historic downtown district and surrounding areas.

Entertainment will be provided by the Jarrett Schaub Band. Auction items range from fine furniture from area retailers to clothing, original art and decorative objects for the home. To donate an auction item, phone 556-5200 or 556- 5172.

Dr. James Cain is master of ceremonies, and Billy Yeary and Hilton Hopson will be auctioneers.

VL's plans include a master streetscape downtown, courthouse landscaping, two more murals and more banners for city gateways.

Upcoming community events include the Oct. 31 "Squared Silly in Lampasas: Family Fun on the Square" and expanded holiday events beginning with a lighted parade on Dec. 4.
