FOOTBALL
The Badger Quarterback Club's weekly meetings to review the past week's games and preview the upcoming contests have been moved from Friday mornings to Thursday mornings.
The meetings will remain in the same location at St. Mary's Catholic Church and begin at 6:45 a.m.

VOLLEYBALL
The Lady Badger Volleyball Booster Club will host Dessert Night on the Court tonight at 6 p.m. in the LHS gymnasium.
The highlight of the evening will be an exhibition volleyball match between students, staff, and various community members.
Additionally, those in
attendance can satisfy their
. sweet tooth by sampling
homemade desserts baked in local kitchens.
Admission is $3 and includes the opportunity to participate in a silent auction.
SHOOTING CLUB
The Lampasas 4-H Shooting Sports Club will hold a meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Lampasas Farm Bureau Building on North Key Avenue.
The club is open to all youths ages 8, and in the third grade, through 18, as of Aug. 31.
Shotgun shoots are held each month, and members learn to shoot skeet and trap in a safe, adult-supervised environment.
Pistol shooting may be offered this year if there is enough support and interest from prospective participants.
Club members are active yearround.

COUNTRY
The varsity Badgers finished 25th overall last Saturday at their meet in San Antonio.
Running on the UTSA campus, the team was led by Jonathan Lohmann who placed 104th out of 225 runners. Lohmann, Ryan DelaCruz and Joseph O'Rourke all improved their pace per mile, according to head coach Trent Lancaster.
The junior varsity team placed 26th at the meet.
Next up for Lampasas is the Gatesville meet Friday.
GOLF
Lampasas County Republican Party's 11th annual golf tournament and picnic will be Oct. 3 at Hancock Park Golf Course. The event is the organization's main fund-raiser of the year.
A continental breakfast in the clubhouse will be at 7 a.m., with tee off at 8 a.m. A hamburgerhot dog lunch will be at noon at the Pavilion. Non-golfers are invited to join participants at the lunch, and donations are appreciated.
Entry fee is $50 per player, plus cart rental if needed. The entry fee includes the breakfast and lunch, a beverage cart, prizes and green fees.
Format is a four-person scramble. Golfers will compete for a $10,000 prize for a holein one on a designated hole.
A silent auction will be held, with items awarded to the highest offer after lunch.
Deadline to register for the event is Sept. 28. Play will be limited to the first 18 teams, or 72 players.
