SWEETHEART
The Lampasas football Sweetheart will be announced prior to Friday's home game between the Badgers and Gatesville.
The ceremony will begin at 7:05 p.m. with the game following at 7:30 p.m.
GOLF
Hancock Park Golf Course will host the first Preservation Lampasas Inc. four-person scramble on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Proceeds benefit historical Lampasas Colored School restoration.
Cost is $65 per player.

The 26th annual Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 24 at the Delaware Springs Golf Course in Burnet.
In addition to the tournament, there will be a silent auction.
Various sponsorships are available.
Interested parties wanting more information should call 830-693-3656 and ask for the golf coordinator.
There is a 144-player limit.
RODEO
The Gustine Rodeo Club will host the first Ridin' for the Brand Ranch Rodeo on Oct. 17 in Gustine.
Events include sorting, mugging, doctoring and wild cow milking. Mike Wilfong is scheduled to be the stock contractor.
Ranch team entry deadline is Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. with a limit of 20 teams. Entry fee is $500 per team.
There will be a market place with various vendors beginning at 5 p.m. and the rodeo begins at 6 p.m. Vendors will be accepted until the day of the event.
After the rodeo, there will be a dance with Outlaw's Prayer performing.
Tickets for the rodeo or dance cost $5 at the gate or both can be purchased for $8. There is no charge for children under six.
