The Lady Badgers are coping with another difficult defeat.

Despite posting 43 kills to only nine errors and successfully landing a whopping 91 percent of its serves, Lampasas left Llano with a four-set loss.

On paper, the stats look impressive, but in reality, they yielded little success.

The Lady Badgers lost 16-25, 17- 25, 25-21, 18-25 and fell to 8-12 on the season.

"The stats are really in line with a lot of the games we've won," head coach Beth Rutland said. "We hit well, served well, and our passing on serve receive was some of our best.

"We just sandwiched it with too many unforced errors."

Middle blocker Madison Morris led the team with 17 kills, followed closely by outside hitter Sarah Bishop who tallied 13. Bishop also dug up a team-high 14 balls.

Sophomore Hailey Morrison led the team serving, successfully placing 14 of her 15 attempts and recording an ace. Setter Mariah Jones (11-of-12) and outside hitter Jontell Ritz (12-of-13) were also almost perfect when serving.

In all, no Lady Badger misguided more than one serve in the entire match.

Even with the loss, the Lady Badgers played much better than the last time they faced Llano. The Lady Yellow Jackets knocked off Lampasas at home in straight sets in mid August.

"I felt that it showed improvement from our first game against them," Rutland said. "They are ranked No. 15 in the state now, but we were right there in it at times."

The subvarsity squads did not fare any better against Llano as both fell in three sets. Both teams now sport overall records of 9-8.

Lampasas travels to Whitney tonight with the freshmen and JV playing at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity 6:30 p.m.
