Dedication of campuses set next week
Lampasas Independent School District community members are invited to join students, teachers, administrators and board members in dedicating Lampasas High School on Monday and Taylor Creek Elementary on Sept. 22.
LHS is the first high school facility built in the district in more than 50 years. Designed to serve 1,600 students, the 223,700-square-foot facility features 10 science lab/ classrooms, general classrooms, a library that includes a distance learning lab and media center, competition and practice gymnasiums, fine arts and performing arts spaces, and career and technical shops, labs and classrooms.
The project also includes athletic fields, a track, tennis courts and a field house on the 80-acre site on U.S. Highway 281 South.
The previous high school campus has undergone renovations and now serves Lampasas Middle School students in grades six through eight.
Dedication ceremonies will take place in the gymnasium.
Taylor Creek Elementary encompasses 65,000 square feet with facilities for 650 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.
The campus features 26 classrooms, two computer labs, a fine arts facility, library, cafeteria, kitchen and gym/multi-purpose room.
Ceremonies will be in the cafeteria.
Both dedication events will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature brief remarks from Lampasas ISD Superintendent Randy Hoyer, school board members and campus administrators.
Guests may stay for self-guided tours. Teachers and administrators will be on hand to welcome visitors and answer questions.
