How sweet it is!
Last Friday night made me proud to be a resident of Lampasas.
It was so exciting to see the fans and players have enthusiasm and pride for the Badgers. It was a beautiful night with football in the air. The band, color guard, Flames, cheerleaders, and everyone had a big part in the victory, and we as a team are proud to represent Lampasas High School for this 2009 football season.
I told the kids that many times teams try to keep from losing, and I wanted them to find a way to win. There were times when the Badgers could have quit, but fought through the adversity and came back to score and take the lead. I was so proud of this feat and appreciate the effort given by our young men.
We know one game does not make a season whether you win or lose, but when you win, it sure does make it easy to prepare for the next opponent.
We truly appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the games.
I will be including in the article each week the superlative awards:
MVP Offense: Brode DuBose
MVP Defense: Carter Burks
MVP Special Teams: Collin Lilly
Hawg:Tate Stoneham
Headhunter: Edward Hall
Big Hit: Rafael Cazares
These awards are chosen by the coaches based on stats from the game. We also pick Dads of the Week, and this week's dads are: Aaron Reyna's and Gabe Terrell's.
Joey McQueen is the Lampasas High School athletic director and the Badgers' head football coach.
