Vows exchanged in Mexico

Ron and Jaci Bumpus Jaci O'Hair and Ron Bumpus, both of Lampasas, exchanged wedding vows in an April 23, 2009, ceremony on the beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The couple were married in the afternoon at Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort.

The bride is the daughter of Rebecca and Jerry O'Hair, and the granddaughter of Ola Queen and the late Lester Queen, and the late Margaret O'Hair and Willie O'Hair.

The groom's parents are John Robert and Jane Bumpus, and Susie and Bill Pringle. He is the grandson of the late Max and Jean Ann Munn, and the late John and Norma "Brownie" Bumpus.

The wedding aisle was lined with seashells, starfish and rose petals. The couple exchanged vows under a bamboo arch with white tulle, tropical flowers and ivy.

Musical selections included "Brown Eyed Girl," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" medley, and "Stay All Night Stay a Little Longer."

The bride, who was barefooted, wore a strapless, fitted satin dress with a lace overlay and watermelon-colored sash around her waist. She wore a white flower in her hair.

She carried a bouquet of assorted tropical flowers in orange, yellow and white.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Joni O'Hair Horsley. Bridesmaid was Jeri Lynn Roznovak, sister of the bride.

Flower girl was Kate Harlien.

Attendants wore purple and yellow dresses and a white flower in their hair. They were barefooted. They carried bouquets of assorted tropical flowers.

The flower girl's bright-green dress had white polka dots. She carried a pomander ball decorated with starfish with seashells hanging on the inside.

Best man was Rob Bumpus, brother of the groom. Groomsman was Michael Harlien.

A wedding dinner was held at El Puerto Steak House.

The banana/vanilla pudding-style cake had white smooth icing. It was decorated with fresh tropical flowers and a sterling silver topper with the couple's initials.

A rehearsal dinner was given at El Hashiru Hibachi Grill.

A reception followed May 8 in Lampasas at the Hancock Springs Hostess House. Music was by Jake Hooker and the Outsiders.

A barbecue and all the fixings was prepared by friends of the couple.

The couple is at home in Lampasas.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Lampasas High School. She received a bachelor of science in psychology from Tarleton State University-Central Texas in 2008.

She is a fourth-grade teacher at Williams Ledger Elementary School in the Copperas Cove Independent School District.

The groom, a 1999 Lampasas High School graduate, earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics in 2003 from Texas A&M University.

He is a realtor and appraiser for Mossy Oak Properties of Texas and Bumpus Appraisal Service.
