Lometa ISD budget includes $800 pay raise for personnel
The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees set in motion its plans for the 2009-10 tax rate and budget when it met in regular session last week.
Superintendent David Rice said that with the addition of an $800 pay raise per faculty member, the proposed $3,957,775 budget comes in at less than in previous years.
And the board has agreed to a proposed tax rate of $1.04 per $100 valuation.
Also, Principal Kip Bullock presented a dress code.
In other business, board members approved budget amendments for unbudgeted revenue and agreed to accept a bid from the Texas Association of School Boards for fleet, property and liability insurance.
The board also secured a loan from First State Bank Central Texas for $97,525 for football stadium lighting installed last year.
And Rice informed the board of upcoming training and reported on school performance.
The superintendent said the Texas Education Agency has determined that Adequate Yearly Progress has been met by the district, and based on final TAKS results for the 2008-09 school year Lometa ISD was deemed "academically acceptable."
Rice also distributed information on the possibility of a bond election for construction of a new gymnasium/classroom complex.
