Null plays in third game of NFL career

PHOTO BY NEWMAN LOWRANCE/ST. LOUIS RAMS Rams' rookie Keith Null prepares to take a snap. Keith Null suited up for his third professional outing as the St. Louis Rams traveled to Cincinnati last night.

The contest took place one week after he played virtually the entire fourth quarter against the Falcons.

The game between the Rams and the Bengals occurred after the Dispatch Record went to print.

Although the former Badger did not put together another gamewinning drive against Atlanta the way he did against the New York Jets, he was impressive nonetheless.

The rookie quarterback completed six-of-nine passes for 56 yards and put St. Louis in position for a successful field goal.

He also showed some speed, running for a first down on a threeyard sprint.

In the preseason opener against the Jets, Null completed both of his passes for 16 yards and one touchdown.

The Lampasas product is competing with Brock Berlin for the third-string quarterback position behind Marc Bulger and Kyle Boller.
