Cheerleaders earn camp accolades

The girls competed against more than 30 squads and 300 girls in a number of events including cheer, chant and dance routine competitions.

Junior Josepha Romero was chosen to compete in the jump-off for 10th-graders and up.

Freshmen Esmeralda Jasso and Skyla Thompson competed in the ninth-grade and under jump-off, where Thompson was named camp champion.

Each of the girls received an All- American nomination.

Thompson was chosen for the All-American team and received a bid to appear in the Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Romero and sophomore Katlyn Delp received a bid to cheer in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

The squad merited several other awards including four spirit sticks, one excellent performance rating, four superior performance ratings, two gold superior performance ratings and one gold superior squad rating as well as an all-around squad title.

Mascot Kylie Bradley received one excellent rating, two superior ratings and a gold superior rating.
