SOCCER

The Lampasas Soccer Association is currently registering players for the fall season with teams available for both boys and girls ages nine to 18. Players from the Lampasas, Copperas Cove and Killeen areas are encouraged to join.

Teams play in the Capital Area Youth Soccer Association and travel to away games in the greater Austin area.

Practice begins in mid- August with games beginning in mid-September.

The Tri-County Soccer Officials Association will sponsor a United States Soccer Federation grade nine (recreational) referee course on Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Public Library.

The course is suitable for youth officials and new adult referess participating in local recreational leagues. Successful completion qualifies the referee to officiate U-14 and below USSF matches.

TCSOA will pay the clinic fee in exchange for refereeing a minimum number of games in the local area. Each referee is responsible for the USSF registration fee.

BASEBALL

Coast to Coast Baseball is inviting local players ages 10- 18 to its upcoming tryout events Saturday at 10 a.m. at McMurry University in Abilene.

Additionally, there will be an instructional hitting camp held on the same day.

QB CLUB

The Badger Quarterback Club will meet Friday at 6:45 a.m. at the cafeteria in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Coaches will recap the JV and freshman scrimmages against Glen Rose and give a scouting report of the upcoming Manor game.
