PHOTO BY RICHARD AKRIDGE Lampasas' varsity volleyball team continued its impressive start to the season by placing fourth overall last weekend in the 16-team Clifton tournament. In pool play, the Lady Badgers came in second, sandwiching a loss to Centerville (25-18, 25-19) between straight-set wins over Tolar (25-11, 25-10) and Hamilton (25-17, 25-17). The Lady Badgers advanced to the gold bracket where they promptly defeated Lorena by a score of 25-20, 13-25, 25-17. In the second round, Godley knocked off Lampasas 25-15, 25-11 before Centerville grabbed another victory over the Lady Badgers, winning 25-20, 25- 19. Senior Sarah Bishop, above, led Lampasas (3-2 overall) offensively during its run through the bracket, tallying 15 kills and four aces. Recaps of Monday's home match against Llano and tonight's road contest at Gatesville will appear in Friday's edition.
