I am writing in response to Mrs. Holland's "wakeup" letter ["America, you've got to wake up!", Aug. 4 letters to the editor]. My family talked about our leader's response to this young [police] officer's doing his duty, but like it says in the Bible, we are to respect and pray for our leadership, not to verbally chastise him in the local newspaper.

We need to stay in constant prayer for our leaders. The Lord can get Mr. Obama through his rookie year and season him up to be the leader we need him to be. If not, he'll answer for his mistakes.
