Artifacts show set Saturday
Saturday is the date for the annual Central Texas Indian Artifacts Show in Lampasas.
Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors will be able to view the artifacts on display from professional dealers and novices throughout the country.
The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce's Tourism Committee hosts the show and has seen an increasing number of visitors at the event.
Show site this year is the former WalMart building in the Santa Fe Shopping Center off Central Texas Expressway and Western Street.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view some of the finest Indian artifacts in Texas and to visit with experts in the field. Vendors and exhibitors will showcase their archeological collections and wares.
On display will be a variety of artifacts, Indian literature, artwork, jewelry, pottery, ceramics, points, tips, decorations and axes.
Exhibit items include those from earliest Indian times -- paleo-Indian -- to items from the 18th and 19th centuries.
There are items for sale, wares to trade and a number of displays. And collectors are available to share their archeological expertise with other collectors and history buffs.
The show is open to the public. A small admission fee will be charged, with funds raised to benefit the local chamber organization.
Food and drink concessions also are available.
