CTC introduces two new online programs
Central Texas College will open two new certificates of completion online programs when the fall semester begins. With the addition of the Computer Help Desk Specialist and Web Design Basics certificates, CTC now offers 21 certificate programs which can be completed online.
The Computer Help Desk Specialist (CSI9) program replaces the Information Center Specialist certificate. It requires 32 credit hours of study which can be completed in two semesters (four classes per semester). Four credit hours are earned with each class. Classes include Introduction to the Internet, Introduction to Database, Web Design I, Introduction to PC Operating Systems and Integrated Software Applications I.
The Web Design Basics (CSWB) certificate requires the student to complete 32 hours of college credit which can also be completed in two semesters. Each course offers four credit hours and includes Internet Commerce, System Analysis and Design, Web Authoring and Operating System Security.
Registration is open through Aug. 27 for these and other online programs. Civilians can register by using the CTC online WebAdvisor system www.ctcd.edu.
Active Army tuition assistance and eArmyU students must apply and register for courses through CTC's online GoArmyEd portal.
New students should meet with a CTC counselor at Student Services, bldg. 119 before registering.
In addition to the 21 certificates of completion, CTC offers 20 online associate degree programs in applied technology, business management, computer science, criminal justice and social work.
In addition, CTC offers more than 200 credit-granting distance education, online-only courses.
