LHS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Badgers volleyball teams begin practicing for the upcoming season next week at Bozarth-Fowler Gymnasium on the old LHS campus.

All squads will participate in two-a-days beginning Monday. Morning practices will be held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

On Monday and Wednesday, the afternoon practices will last from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will be followed by a one-hour weight training session from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The second practice on Tuesday and Thursday will go from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no weight training on those days.

The Lady Badgers have a scrimmage at Gatesville Aug. 7 beginning at 3 p.m. and open their regular-season schedule Aug. 8 at 8 a.m. against Rockdale.

LHS FOOTBALL

Anyone who held 2008 season tickets needs to pick them up from the old LHS athletic office Aug. 3-7 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Tickets that are not picked up will go on sale to the general public from Aug. 10-14. The athletic office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No season tickets will be available after Aug. 14, but tickets will be for sale on a game-by-game basis.

Season tickets are $25 for five home games.

The LHS Summer Football Camp for incoming seventh-, eighth- and ninth-graders will be next Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cost is $50, and registration will be in front of the Bozarth- Fowler Gymnasium beginning at 8 a.m. Monday morning.

SOCCER

The Lampasas Soccer Association is currently registering players for the fall season with teams available for both boys and girls ages nine to 18.

Practice begins in early to mid-August with games beginning in mid-September.

The Lampasas Boys and Girls Club will be registering players for its upcoming fall soccer league Aug. 17 through Aug. 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The league is open to all players ages 3-12.

Forms will be available at the Boys and Girls Club (1602 East FM 580) starting Monday.

Cost is $60 for members and $80 for non-members. Jersey, shorts and socks are included.

Anyone interested in coaching should contact the club at 564-1669.

The Boys and Girls Club will not be offering a football league this year.
