The city of Copperas Cove and the Central Texas Council of Governments are sponsoring a free tire collection event through Saturday.

Residents of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills and San Saba counties may bring up to eight passenger car and/or truck tires per household to the transfer station at 2605 South FM 116 in Copperas Cove.

Participants must show proof of residency.

Tires will be accepted until the trailers are full. Rims will not be accepted.
