Sisters Marisa, left, and Alyssa Maldonado were each members of championship teams at the Alva Jo Invitational Girls' Fast Pitch Softball Tournament held in San Antonio. As a result, each moves on to compete in national tournaments later this month. Alyssa, a member of the Texas Blaze 98, helped to win the U-10 division while Marisa participated in the U-14 division and will now play in the Pony Platinum Tournament in Harlingen. Alyssa's squad advances to nationals in Johnson City, Tenn. Both tournaments are scheduled for July 28-Aug. 2.
