Equipment hand-out for eighth-grade players will be on Aug. 20 from 4-8 p.m. and on Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon for all seventh-graders at the new Lampasas Middle School campus.

Practice begins on Aug. 24 from 6:50-7:50 a.m. for seventh-graders, while eighthgraders' practice sessions begin shortly after the school day ends and last until 5:30 p.m.

The first Saturday practice is scheduled for Aug. 29 from 8-10 a.m. for eighth-grade players and from 10 a.m. to noon for the seventh-grade players.

Donations of soap, towels and detergent will be taken during both Saturday practices.

Beginning on the first day of school, the gym will be open at approximately 6:45 a.m.

HUNTING

The Texas Big Game Awards will host its 18th annual Hill Country Sportsman's Celebration July 18 at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg.

The event will recognize landowners and hunters from Lampasas County, along with others, and is open to the public.
