Funeral services for Opal Haynie, 94, of Lampasas are July 10, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Minister Rocky Moncus officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Haynie died July 7 at Quality Care of Waco.

She was born June 29, 1915, in Comanche County, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Andrew Brice.

Mrs. Haynie graduated from Florence High School as salutatorian.

She married Thomas Hoxey Haynie on June 7, 1936.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and working in her yard.

Survivors are six children, Gay Nell Smith, Glynda Kay Haynie Mitchell, Thomas Hoxey Haynie Jr., Nancy Carol Haynie Phillips, Rickey Haynie and Melissa Ann Haynie Lawson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Wendell Bryce Haynie.

Memorials may be made to Quality Care of Waco or First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas.
