Kempner teen killed in one-vehicle wreck; three others injured
A one-vehicle accident Sunday at 3:15 a.m. almost four miles east of Rumley on FM 580 claimed the life of a Kempner teen.
Jordan Lee Mason, 19, was the driver of a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report. Mason was westbound on FM 580, and he passed two other vehicles in a no-passing zone, the report states.

Two passengers, Lorenzo Rendon, 17, of Lampasas and Correy Mason, 18, of Woodway, were transported by helicopter to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, while Jordan Mason was taken to Rollins Brook Community Hospital by ambulance.
None of the accident victims was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
The accident was investigated by DPS Trooper III Monte Carroll, assisted by Sgt. Stephen Fox Bynum, Trooper II Michael Tatum and Trooper IV Jimmy Chesnut.
