Order cites ongoing "severe fire danger" in Lampasas County
County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse has extended for 10 days the county's ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas. Extension of the ban, which has been in effect since June 29, begins Wednesday at noon.
Exceptions to the burn ban apply for barbecue pits, for agricultural burns with prior approval from the county fire marshal and for household trash burned in a barrel with a screen on top.
A violation of the order is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
The burn ban will be reviewed on July 17.
