Woman, unborn child die in collision
      An accident Tuesday night about 10 miles northeast of Hamilton took the life of a Lampasas teen and her unborn child, according to information from the Texas Department of Public Safety office in Lampasas. An official confirmed the following account.

Burn ban reinstated
      County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse on Monday reinstated for 10 days the county's ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas. The emergency burn ban will be reviewed Wednesday. Exceptions apply to barbecue pits, household trash burned in a barrel with a screen on top and burns for agricultural purposes with prior approval from Lampasas County Fire Marshal Gene Harrison.

Man sentenced to TDC on two charges
      In recent 27th District Court action with Judge Joe Carroll presiding, Michael Joseph Schoolcraft, 46, of Kempner received two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for bail jumping and a failure to appear felony charge.
