Pet Parade rules listed

The 2009 Spring Ho Pet Parade will be July 10, with registration at the Santa Fe Depot building on the corner of Second and Live Oak streets at 8:30 a.m.

The event, sponsored by Animal Health Center of Lampasas, will hold judging at 9 a.m.

The Pet Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the depot and end up at the courthouse bandstand for an awards presentation.

All entries must be registered to participate. Animals must have written proof of current vaccinations. No hoofed animals are allowed. Children are encouraged to enter in costume.

Animals must be caged or on a leash and be controlled by participants or sponsors. All entries must be able to walk or ride the parade route. To help ensure the safety of participants and their animals, no motorized vehicles are permitted.

Grand champions may ride in the Spring Ho Grand Parade.

Categories for the Pet Parade include best cat, best dog, best group of pets, best dressed pet, best dressed children, most unusual pet, grand champion, reserve champion and best use of theme.

This year's theme is "Fiesta at the Springs."
