Art club raffling quilt

2009-07-03 / Lifestyles

Lampasas Art Club members are raffling a handmade antique quilt -- donated by Mary Tittle. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The quilt will be given away during the Herb/Art Fest on Oct. 10. Members of the Lampasas Art Club met in June at Lampasas Art Gallery in My Girls with president Mary Ellen Zimmerman presiding.

Reports from committee members included a report on the successful garage sale to benefit the gallery. Those who assisted with the sale also were thanked.

Jan Whitten-Sewell's work is on display in the gallery, and Myra Applewhite-Haralson was welcomed as a new member.

Plans for the gallery for Spring Ho were discussed. Volunteers will be in the gallery to greet and welcome visitors, and the Fiesta theme will be reflected in a window display.

Marlene Corbin is the July Artist of the Month. Her artwork will be on display in the foyer at the front of My Girls.

Members were reminded to promote the sale of tickets for a quilt donated by Mary Tittle to be given away during Spring Ho. The quilt is on display at the gallery and may be viewed Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Satur- day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The club meets the second Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m. All visitors are welcome.
