Joyce Hoard Joyce Rosella Walker Hoard, 70, died May 31, 2009, due to heart failure.

Funeral services are June 5 at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Burial will follow at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoard was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Coldwater, Mich., to Maurice A. and Ruby B. Walker of Bronson, Mich.

She married Sam Hoard on Feb. 15, 1960, in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2006.

She sold real estate in Central Texas from 1971 until her retirement in 2006. During that time, she received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Top Ten in the Nation award three times.

Mrs. Hoard served on many council boards and committees, including Fort Hood Area Board of Realtors Board of Directors. During her career, she mentored many new real estate agents in the area.

She is a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove where she served on the church council.

Survivors include one son, Mark A. Hoard and wife, Leslie, of Salado; six daughters, Jeannette White of Decatur, Ga., Jeannine Matthews of Theodore, Ala., and Pamela Gonyer, Geraldine (Jerri) Hoard, Jo Ann Griffin and husband, Jack, and Constance (Susie) McAndrews and husband, Bruce, all of Copperas Cove; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Phyllis R. and Lloyd Sexton; and a niece and nephews.

Pallbearers are David Dean, Douglas Griffin, William Griffin, Jeremy Grover, James Sexton and Troy Elenbaum.
