"A Toast to Elmer Kelton" will be Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Fort Concho Commissary in San Angelo.

There will be dinner, music and entertainment. Tickets are $25 each at Cactus Book Shop, San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, Fort Concho Visitor's Center, San Angelo Area Foundation and Tom Green County Library or by phoning (325) 655-4136.

Kelton has won three Western Heritage Awards and was voted "Best Western Writer of All Time" by his peers in Western Writers of America. He also has won seven Spur Awards.

Kelton will give a presentation, followed by an unveiling of a bronze statue of his likeness.
