Annual county Farm Bureau contests on tap Saturday

Kylie Bradley Four Lampasas County young women will vie for the title of Miss Lampasas County Farm Bureau, and one will earn the right to represent the Farm Bureau at various engagements and competitions.

The contest will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Building on U.S. Highway 281 North.

Two little ladies will compete for the title of Little Miss, and three boys are vying for the Little Mister title.

One also has entered the Talent Find competition.

Little Miss candidates include Kasi Andrews, 6, daughter of Todd and Angie Andrews, and Kylee Rutledge, 4, daughter of Kyle and Breane Rutledge;

Little Mister contestants are Ethan Bradle, 6, son of Michael and Julie Bradle; Dawson Raub, 6, son of Darryl and Mary Raub; and Avery Paul Smith, 5, son of John and Somer Smith.

Cassidy Wienecke, 16, is entered in the Talent Find competition.

Miss Farm Bureau contestants include:

• Kylie Bradley. A sophomore at Lometa High School, she is the 16- year-old daughter of Wendell and Julie Bradley.

Jessica Jazdyk Miss Bradley is active in the FFA where she has received numerous awards, and has served as the Lometa chapter president for two years and the San Saba District FFA president. She was the 2008 state champion in Soil Stewardship Public Speaking.

Miss Bradley exhibits market swine, and was the 2009 Senior Food Fair Grand Champion at the Lampasas stock show.

At Lometa, she is in Student Council, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and participates in UIL activities.

Miss Bradley also is an All- American cheerleader, participates in discus and plays basketball, and is a member of the UIL One-Act Play cast.

A member of First Baptist Church of Lometa's Youth Group, she was the director of See You at the Pole for her school.

• Jessica Jazdyk. The daughter of Tami and Stan Ott of Copperas Cove, and Maj. Michael Jazdyk stationed at Fort Irwin, Calif., she is 18.

Miss Jazdyk is a junior at Lampasas High School.

She is involved in FFA and the Flames Dance Team. She also shows chickens at the annual youth livestock show.

Kirby Kennedy • Kirby Kennedy, 16, the daughter of Judy Vann Kennedy and Terry Kennedy, is a student at Lampasas High School.

She is a member of the Lampasas County 4-H Council and a 4-H junior leader.

Miss Kennedy also serves as FFA vice president and San Saba District FFA vice president.

She participates in FFA Chapter Conducting, National Honor Society and Junior Pierians.

She plays on the junior varsity volleyball team and shows pigs at stock shows.

Miss Kirby is headed to Texas A&M in June for the State 4-H Food Show and State 4-H Livestock Judging contest.

• Cassidy Wienecke is the daughter of Chris and Cheri Wienecke. She is a sophomore at Lometa High School.

She is active in a number of activities including FFA, 4-H, oneact play, National Honor Society, cheerleading, UIL academics and cross-examination debate.

Miss Wienecke is a state qualifier in extemporaneous speaking and one-act play, in which she will be competing later this month.
