Mr. Green

Ronald Green Funeral services for lifelong Lampasas resident Ronald Harris Green, 70, were May 4, 2009, at First Baptist Church with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial followed at Townsen Cemetery.

Mr. Green died May 2 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 25, 1938, in Lampasas, the son of James McKinley and Iris Bernice Harris Green.

Mr. Green grew up in Lampasas, and after graduating from high school joined the U.S. Army.

He married Patricia A. Porter on Dec. 31, 1957, in Lometa.

Mr. Green was a member of Second Baptist Church and Kiwanis Club of Lampasas.

He worked for many years as a butcher for Lang's Minimax in Lampasas.

Mr. Green enjoyed working with the youth of Lampasas, teaching archery in 4-H and teaching Sunday School.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; two sons, Tommy D. Green of Dallas and Michael Green and wife, Karyn, of Lampasas; one sister, Nelda Dybdahl and husband, Duane, of Austin; five grandchildren, Charity Green, Kristen Green, Ashley Green, Zane Green and Abbie Green; one great-grandchild, Levi Moss; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Townsen Cemetery Association.
