Badgers fall 18-4 in season-opener

The Badgers lasted just five innings in their season-opener at home against Copperas Cove before the game was stopped by the mercy rule.
The Bulldogs won 18-4, racking up nine hits while being walked on 12 seperate occassions.
Cody Brandon picked up the win for Copperas Cove, while Chance Vann found himself on the losing end. Billy Mee earned the save for Copperas Cove.
Zack Hoffman led the Bulldogs offensively with a two-of-four performance, including a pair of RBIs. Teammate Jared Jones hit a double and knocked in an RBI.
The Badgers' freshman squad also tasted defeat, narrowly falling on the road 3-2.
Lampasas returned to action on Thursday, traveling to Copperas Cove for tournament play. The tournament concludes Saturday.
