Deuel-Miller
Colleen and Raymond Miller New Covenant Church in Lampasas was the setting for the Oct. 11, 2008, wedding of Colleen Shea Deuel and Raymond Matthew Miller.
The bride is the daughter of retired USMC Master Sgt. Brian J. Deuel of Jacksonville, N.C., and the late Anna Bettle Deuel. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bettle of Lampasas, and Mary Margaret Deuel of Spring and the late Jim Deuel.
The groom is the son of Robert and Stella Miller and the grandson of Ruby Miller, all of Lampasas.
Kenneth Higgins, uncle of the groom, officiated the afternoon, double-ring ceremony.
Escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length, sleeveless gown of white satin.
The bodice featured a scalloped neckline and had pearl beading on the front and back.
Her veil of tulle was held in place by a silver and pearl tiara and had appliques of alencon lace and pearls on the cathedral train.
The veil was handmade by the bride's grandmother and was first worn by the bride's mother at her 1988 wedding.
Sara Crisp was maid of honor, and Lauren Clancy served as bridesmaid.
Attendants wore black palazzo pants and red shimmer satin tops trimmed with rhinestones. They carried hand-tied bouquets of white alstromeria.
Flower girl was Andrea Bettle, cousin of the bride. She wore a red-skirted dress with a white bodice. She carried a basket of red silk rose petals.
Music was provided by Mrs. Pat Justice at the piano.
Tanner Dewald served as best man, and David Miller was his brother's groomsman.
Ushers were Justin Harris, the bride's cousin, and Chris Miller, brother of the groom.
Ringbearer was the bride's cousin, Andrew Bettle Jr.
The bride's three-tiered white hazelnut cake was decorated with candy pearls and topped with fresh Gerber daisies that matched the bride's bouquet.
The groom's marble cake was covered in chocolate basketweave icing and topped with a soccer ball likeness made from cake.
The couple is at home in Aurora, Colo.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Lampasas High School. She attended Central Texas College and is continuing her education at Concord Career College in Aurora.
The groom is a 2006 Lampasas High School graduate and is an airman first class in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora.
