Sporting a pair of shutout victories over host team, Badgers cruise to early-season championship
      The Badgers certainly know how to make a great first impression. After posting a winning preseason record, the Lampasas boys' soccer team opened its regular-season schedule with an undefeated run to the championship at the Tiger Cup in Smithville over the weekend.

Bowhunter shoots a bull's-eye
      David May killed this 10-point buck in the early-morning hours of Dec. 13 at the Porter Ranch in Lampasas County. The animal's inside antler spread measured 19 inches with 24-inch main beams, scoring 133.50 on the Pope and Young measuring system.

Disappointing district loss for LHS
      The Lady Badgers could not buy a shot early against Hendrickson. Despite playing an inspired fourth quarter, Lampasas' 19-point outburst was not enough to overcome its first-half shooting woes on the road, and the Lady Badgers fell to the Lady Hawks by 24 points, 62-38.
