Crawfords are recipients of Hood's prestigious Good Neighbor Award
      III Corps and Fort Hood held its annual Good Neighbor Dinner to honor its most recent recipients, and a Lampasas couple were among the honorees. Bill and Anna Crawford, who have donated much of their time and resources to benefit the Lampasas community, were recognized by the Army post's echelon as "Good Neighbors.

      The Continuing Education Department of Central Texas College (CTC) continues enrollment for January classes. Non-credit courses are offered in a variety of areas including arts and crafts, business, computers and classes for lifelong learners.

Art club shares overview from end of 2008 year
      Lampasas Art Club members met at the Lampasas Art Gallery for the December meeting, which included a luncheon and Christmas gift exchange. End-of-the-year reports were given by committee chairmen. Members continue to display paintings in several city banks and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to share their art with the public.

      The first American Red Cross blood drive of the year was held during the first cold snap of 2009, but Lampasans turned out to help. Wanda Meyers, blood drive coordinator, said she appreciates the efforts the 51 donors made to give blood.

'Twogether in Texas' Workshop set; marriage license discount offered
      The new statewide "Twogether in Texas" healthy marriage initiative is offering $60 off Lampasas County couple's marriage license fee if the couple attends a free eight-hour secular healthy marriage workshop. A workshop will be held in Lampasas on Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tyson's Corner Retreat, 1135 CR 1045.
