Artist to offer demo at area gallery

Betty Jameson Highland Lakes Art Gallery will host Betty Jameson of Austin on Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m. at the gallery. Ms. Jameson will demonstrate a mixed-media, staining technique including watercolor.

The artist earned a bachelor of arts in art and education from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Wash., and a master's degree from the University of Hawaii.

Ms. Jameson has taught and worked in watercolor, oils and drawing for more than 30 years.

The Highland Lakes Art Gallery, a co-op gallery, is a venue for the artistic works of about 75 members in Burnet, Blanco, Lampasas and Llano coun- ties.

Artists who display their work also volunteer at the gallery assisting customers, staffing children's art classes in June and adult art classes year-round.

They also sponsor monthly demonstrations featuring talented visiting artists from around the state.
