The Lady Badgers are back
With a new coach at the helm of a young squad, Lampasas looks to dominate with defense
      Lady Badger head soccer coach Mark Guszak is fully aware his team could struggle on offense this season, but he has a plan. Instead of playing an up-tempo style and trying to outscore opposing teams, Guszak will look to compensate by playing solid defense and keeping the games close in hopes of getting a lucky bounce every now and then.

      The Lady Badgers varsity soccer team gets its first taste of action tonight when the girls travel to Stephenville for a scrimmage at 7:30 p.m.

LMS basketball teams end 2008 with victories
      The Lampasas Middle School basketball teams were grabbing wins hand over fist prior to the holiday break. Like eager kids on Christmas morning, the Badgers and Lady Badgers snatched up victories like they were presents under a tree.

Badgers slow to get back into form following holiday break
      Like most of us, the Badgers returned to work after the Christmas break a little off their game. Despite being a step slower, and perhaps a pound or two heavier thanks to some holiday home cooking, Lampasas was back into the swing of things by the time the Cameron Chamber Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament wrapped up Tuesday.

Hot-shot Bishop leads LHS to success at KSA Tournament in Orlando
      The Lady Badgers' trip to Walt Disney World got off to a rocky start, but it ended with a bang. Like the regular fireworks displays at the Magic Kingdom, Lampasas had to wait patiently for its grand finale to come after dropping the opening-round game of the KSA Tournament in Orlando to Harlan, Ky., 47-42.
