Summer volleyball leagues winding down

With two weeks left in summer volleyball competition, the Lampasas four-on-four team hit a bit of a snag.

Coming off strong performances for the past month, the Lady Badgers lost two matches at Copperas Cove, playing in the 50-straightminute match format.

They lost the first match 57-45, and the score for the second match was not reported because the scoreboard malfunctioned.

Lampasas players were Mariah Jones, Madison Morris, Jontell Ritz, Jacqueline Hensley, Sam Guana, Laura Leavell and Patricia Roberts.

Copperas Cove League matches are scheduled for tonight and Thursday, and the league's bracketplay tournament finals are scheduled for July 22. The Lampasas team which will play in Copperas Cove is in need of fill-in players for the Thursday and July 22 matches because of some scheduling conflicts, such as Thursday's matches in the Rockdale 4x4 League.
