Summer football camp right around the corner
Football camp for incoming seventh-, eighth- and ninth-graders is scheduled for Aug. 4-6 at Lampasas High School.
The camp, which is conducted by the LHS and Lampasas Middle School coaching staffs, will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day.
The cost is $45 per athlete and no more than $70 per family. Each athlete will receive a T-shirt.
"This camp will serve two purposes," LMS boys' athletics coordinator Jim Burks said.
"It will allow the kids to get a head start on the season by learning what we'll be doing and how. It also will allow coaches to get to know the kids and communicate our football program's goals and expectations to the kids."
For more information, call LHS head coach Ryan Bailey at 556- 2327.
Registration forms will be available on the first day of camp. Athletes are asked to meet at Bozarth- Fowler Gymnasium at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 4.
"We hope we can get a good turnout for the camp, because the more we have there, the easier it will be to hit the ground running when the season starts," Burks said.
"When school starts, we want our focus to be on getting ready for games."
