Spivey-Davis
Wedding vows exchanged in First Baptist Church ceremony

Amanda and Cory Davis
Amanda Spivey and Cory Davis, both of Waco, were united in marriage in a March 3, 2008, ceremony at First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Minister Reid Schaub of Lampasas officiated the double-ring afternoon ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Jo Spivey of Lampasas, and the granddaughter of the late Hugo and Flay Otte and the late Bob and Annette Spivey.

The groom's parents are Marshall and Mary Davis of Lampasas. He is the grandson of Calvin and Nell Fuchs of Fredericksburg, and Jack Davis and the late Lavory Davis of Lampasas.

Pews were accented with flowers and ribbon in the bride's chosen colors of mauve, black and white.

Bouquets of flowers were placed at the altar and on the organ and piano. A Unity candle set also was placed on a table near the altar.

Organist was Betty Ann Whitis of Lampasas.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She chose a white strapless gown covered in beading, crystals and sequins. It had a fitted waist that flowed into a floor-length tufted, tiered skirt.

The bride's tulle veil with an embroidered edge was embellished with hand-sewn rhinestones, sequins and crystals.

To complement her gown, the bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of assorted flowers.

Matron of honor was Ryane Bell, and maid of honor was Angie Adams, the bride's cousin, both of Lampasas.

Bridesmaids were Breanne Rutledge of Lampasas, and Kathleen Bowkamp Pitts, Lori Hunt and Wendy Caldwell, all of Waco.

Attendants wore strapless, A-line black and white dresses. They carried long-stemmed calla lilies and star gazers.

Flower girls were Kara Brinegar, and Kyli Davis, niece of the groom. They wore three-quarter-length dresses with a black sash and a long tie.

Best man was Mike White of Lampasas.

Groomsmen were Chris Pitts of Waco, Jessie Ramsey, Charlie Hamlyn, Matt Mezger and Russell Jacks of Lampasas.

Ringbearer was Cohen White.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at the Holiday House.

Tables were covered with black cloths with white and silver center runners and candles.

Music was by Zach Huckabee.

The bride's three-tiered Italian cream cake had fresh flowers matching her bouquet between the layers.

Rosettes and pearls adorned the sides, and a porcelain ivory bride and groom topped the cake.

The groom's two-layer Cajun fudge cake was covered with chocolate icing. It was topped with a hand-carved Texas Longhorn with burnt orange icing.

The bride's mother made both cakes. Food was prepared by the bride's mother, her sisters and other family members.

Houseparty members were Sue Walker, Angela Walker and Alicia.

After a cruise to Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Cozumel, the couple is at home in Waco.

The bride graduated from Lampasas High School and McLennan Community College. She is a commercial teller for First National Bank of Central Texas.

The groom, also a Lampasas High School graduate, earned a degree from Texas State Technical School in Waco. He is an aviation mechanic for Ram Aviation.

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Crawford's Party House.

A Mexican dinner was prepared by friends of the groom's parents.
