Funeral services for Thomas Clayton Carnley, 72, of Lampasas will be held July 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Lampasas with the Rev. Timothy Ochsner officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Visitation is July 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
Mr. Carnley died July 11 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
He was born Aug. 13, 1935, in Fairhope, Ala., the son of Oliver and Julia Lay Carnley.
Mr. Carnley married Marcia Ann Johnson in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lampasas.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; one daughter and her husband, Tammy and James Carpenter, of Lampasas; three sons and their wives, Thomas and Jamie Carnley and Max and Kathleen Carnley, all of Lampasas, and Michael and Angela Carnley, of Round Rock; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Carnley, of Lampasas; a sister, Marie Linderman, of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Jason, Zachary, Dustin, Jennie, Antonia, Summer, Marcia, Ashli, Lauren, Christopher, Keaton and Cody; great-grandchildren, Landon, Kennedy, Brylan and Bryce; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Carnley was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Carnley and George Wayne Carnley.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
