County grand jurors handle variety of cases The Lampasas County grand jury handed down 17 indictments against 15 persons in its most recent term. The Lampasas Police Department presented cases that resulted in the indictment of: • Sergio Argumendo Castruita, 26, for assault on a public servant, May 18. • Walter Perry Elam, 53, for prohibited substance in a correctional facility, on May 29. • Lorrie Ann Westeberry, 38, for driving while intoxicated with a child, on May 20. The Lampasas County attorney presented one case that resulted in the indictment of Eddie Lee Moreno, 46, for driving while intoxicated, third or more, on June 9. Indictments were returned against the following in cases presented by the Major Crimes Assistant Unit: • Edward Hershall Allman, 29, for criminal conspiracy, on May 30. • Jerry Glenn Patterson, 58, for three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, on March 21, March 31 and May 23. • Michael Carl Mesecke, 57, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, on March 31. • Christopher Ronald Bagley, 19, for deadly conduct, on May 10. • Jonathan Hurt, 23, for forgery, on March 25. The Lampasas County Sheriff's Department garnered indictments against the following: • Steven Thomas Morris, 21, for theft over $20,000 and under $100,000, on June 15, 2007. • Bruce Anthony Cardenas, 20, for assault on a public servant, on May 18. • James David Hewett, 65, for tampering with a witness, on May 29. • Gilbert Chris Martinez, 43, for sexual assault of a child under 17, on April 5. • Cody Edward Eckley, 17, for aggravated assault/threat with a deadly weapon, on June 5. |
